The Village of Pocahontas contracts with Republic Service. Residents are billed monthly on their utility bills for 1 trash receptacle. If you would like an additional trash can, you must call Republic Service and set this up.
Trash pick-up is on Wednesdays. We ask that receptacles be placed on the curb by 6 a.m.

Generally, the Board of Trustees meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 7 p.m. Meeting dates are posted on the door of the Village Hall.

Yes, citizens are given an opportunity to address the Board of Trustees without prior notification, during the ‘Public Comment’ portion of the Board meetings.
Upon recognition by the Mayor/President, members of the public may address the Board and are given three (3) minutes to speak on any non-agenda item. As this is not a question-and-answer opportunity, the Board may or may not respond to any questions asked at this time or later during the meeting.
Some items brought before the Board of Trustees will include Public Hearings. These items will include a 'public comment' period, often after a staff presentation, where interested parties may speak on the item being discussed. Again, you may speak upon recognition by the Mayor/President.
